Thu's Giving Tuesday Fundraising Challenge

Hi everyone! As you know, I’m a member of Calgary Public Library Foundation’s Board of Directors, and I’ve set a fundraising goal of $5,000 to fill five shelves of children’s books for Giving Tuesday.

As a mother of two daughters, I know the book a child picks up at the right moment can change how they see themselves and what’s possible. Books opened doors for me as a child — they shaped who I am today and built my confidence and outlook. Calgary Public Library is where every child, no matter their family’s circumstances, can find that book for free. Children’s books are the most borrowed in the collection, and they wear out the fastest, so the shelves need constant refilling. That’s why I’m taking on five shelves of new children’s books — for the kids who will shape our future.
