Sammi's Giving Tuesday Fundraising Challenge

Hi everyone! As you know, I’m a member of Calgary Public Library Foundation’s Board of Directors, and I’ve set a fundraising goal of $2,000 to fill two shelves of children’s books for Giving Tuesday.

Did you know that the most borrowed books in our library aren’t bestsellers or new releases. They’re children’s books.
This makes sense. A child who finds the right story at the right time gets more than entertainment. They explore worlds beyond their own, and they begin to figure out who they are. Imagination and empathy grow a little with every book, until they help shape the person that child becomes.

But that popularity comes at a cost. Popular children’s titles are borrowed so often that they wear out quickly. $1,000 fills one shelf with new children’s books.
