We are delighted to share that Patricia Moore, Chair of our Board of Directors, was named an Officer of the Order of Canada on Friday, June 29.

Moore, who is a lifelong Calgarian and former teacher, helped launch a women’s shelter in Edmonton with Barbara Poole more than 50 years ago and has worked with a number of organizations including the Calgary Zoo Foundation and the Banff Centre.

The Order of Canada was created in 1967 and is one of our country’s highest civilian honours. The award recognizes Moore “for her lifelong involvement in her community as a dedicated and hands-on volunteer, and for her fundraising and philanthropic efforts to strengthen her community’s cultural and social fabric.”

Please join us in congratulating Patricia Moore on this well-deserved honour.
