Locked Library is the ultimate puzzle-solving extravaganza. This is your invitation to attempt the wildly popular Locked Library, an ongoing series of massive escape events that have challenged players — as many as 1,300 playing simultaneously — to solve an elaborate series of puzzles before time runs out.

An Access Pass grants you access to play the online game on one screen. It is your choice how you play the game.

For example, a household might purchase one Access Pass to play at home on their computer or mirrored to their television. You can also form a team of multiple players from different households, purchase one Access Pass and play over Zoom with one person (the Access Pass holder) sharing their screen.

Alternatively, for players from multiple households who would like a more hands-on approach to the game, they might choose to each purchase an Access Pass and play along with each other over video chat as a team.

It’s up to you and the amount of control you would like in the game! Every purchase directly supports the Calgary Public Library. Thank you for your support!

You will receive your Access Pass via email at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 12. If you don’t have it by 12:15 PM, please be sure to check your junk mail folder just in case. Otherwise, you can contact us at info@libraryfoundation.ca for assistance.

Yes! You can purchase an Access Pass up until 10:00PM MST on Saturday, February 12 and you have until 11:59PM MST that day to play. The game will close at midnight MST.

The game will be open to Access Pass holders and their teams on Saturday, February 12 from 12:00pm (noon) to 11:59pm MST. We advise allowing two hours for game play.

Please note that our team will be available for troubleshooting from 12:00PM to 10:00PM on game day.

Game time is open from noon to 11:59pm MST on February 12. You can take as much or as little time as you’d like to play within that timeframe.

For maximum enjoyment and ease of play, it is recommended that players use a desktop, laptop, or large tablet to access the game. Ensure that you have a reliable internet connection. Once you receive an Access Pass, it will provide you with everything you require through the online platform.

It might be helpful to keep a pen and pad of paper nearby to workout any clues. And of course, every hardworking protagonist requires tasty snacks and beverages!

No…and that is part of the fun! This game is designed to challenge even the best puzzle-solvers. Usually only half of participants complete the game! Will you take on the challenge and become part of this exclusive group!? Good luck!

While puzzle difficulty is designed for an adult audience, we have heard from many families who have enjoyed playing together as a team and working collaboratively. We do not recommend this activity for children playing alone, as it is challenging! Recommended for ages 12+.

Proceeds from all ticket purchases support the critical work of the Calgary Public Library. Requests for refunds must be received by Wednesday, February 9.
