Good Afternoon,

When times are tough, books have the ability to take us to magical places and help us feel connected. We hope you’re finding comfort in books and accessing the Library’s online resources for yourselves and your family, including its Digital Library and learning resources for children.

With Library locations, schools and daycares temporarily closed, the online services provided by the Library are more important than ever. The Calgary Public Library Foundation’s work continues but we are now facing an unprecedented challenge at our organization.

We have postponed three major fundraising initiatives that were planned for this spring. While our staff is working to see what opportunities we can explore during this time, it means that we will fall $160,000 short of our fundraising goal from these three initiatives alone.

We need your help.

We recognize that many people are facing personal challenges and uncertainty right now. If you are able, here are three ways that you can help the Library through this challenging time:

  • Become a monthly donor and provide consistent support to the Library.
  • Make an immediate gift online or leave us a message with your contact information at 403-221-2002 (we will return your call as soon as possible).
  • Stay connected through our newsletter and social media (libraryfdnyyc).

Our office and librarystore.ca will be closed until further notice. We are still here to serve you through phone and email, and we appreciate your patience as our processing time for donations and tax receipts will likely take longer than usual.

For regular updates on the Library’s response to COVID-19, please visit calgarylibrary.ca/COVID-19.

Our work for the Library, our donors and our community continues, and we will share some of our new projects with you soon.
